Dear Customer,
We would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our Onlineshop so that you can become better acquainted with our products. We hope our products assure you of our concept, ideas and how we would like to offer the finest quality craftsmanship when producing and designing our products.
Since we use only high quality materials for our products, we would like to give you a brief overview of the goods and materials we use to create our products.
· Chatons: We use the best quality chaton crystal stones that are diamond cross-cut. Two sizes (Chatonniete) of the crystal stones are available. The rivets together with the crystal chatons are inserted securely into the leather.
· Strass: The history of jewellery stones is as ancient as mankind itself. And as new as the micro precision technology that is an essential part of their manufacture in today’s modern word. The simple pleasure of the cave dweller who found a beautifully shaped stone or glittering crystal, purely by chance when hunting, soon took on new dimensions when stones became desirable objects for exchange and as a valuable means of payment. This new awareness marked the birth of the idea of prestige which, in turn, introduced the concepts ‘valuable’ and ‘valueless’. Even today, the common belief is that only that which is rare is truly valuable. Now, at least since Josef Strasser from Vienna managed to manufacture lead crystal (strass) from quartz sand, minium and potash, this idea has been proved to be only partially true. Today, we are able to produce jewellery stones with potential uses that are boundless as the realms of the imagination.
· Leather: Leather is an animal skin taken from cattle, sheep, goat, etc. where fibrous structure is conserved by Gerbung. Gerbung is the chemical compound of skin protein with a Gerbstoff. There are three categories of Gerbstoffen: vegetable, mineral and synthetic. Leather is one of the oldest materials for the production of clothing, footwear, etc.
· Rindnappa Aniline Leather: Very soft natural calf aniline leather. The term Aniline leather means tanned, aniline dyed and finished with a transparent seal coat. Using this leather daily, the leather becomes softer and smoother without losing its condition.
· Application: All applications are fixed into the leather by rivets and rivet caps made from tombac (an alloy of copper and zinc). This ensures maximum secure fastening of each application made to the leather.
· Company: The Company name LEDASS’92 originates from: ‘LED’ – the German word for leather is leder and ‘ASS’ is taken from strass. When you bring ‘led’ and ‘ass’ together you create the word LEDASS. The numbers ‘92’ refers to the year of the foundation of this company, in the year 1992.
The name LEDASS'92® and the LEDASS'92 Logo is patent-protected label name.
